eduroam configuration update

Monitoring - eduroam was reconfigured on the NU System campuses to no longer accept short usernames. This was done to support roaming at other institutions, where eduroam requires users to authenticate with a fully qualified username (…@nebraska.edu, …@unl.edu, …@unomaha.edu, or …@unk.edu).

Information on how to reconnect your device can be found on our knowledge base article, https://nusupport.nebraska.edu/TDClient/33/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=14, which includes device specific guides, in addition to resources to find your campus identity. We highly recommend using the assisted device configuration utility available here: https://go.unl.edu/eduroam.

Note: Your fully qualified username will typically be identical to your campus email address, unless you use an email alias.

DNS under investigation

Identified - ITS is currently investigating issues with a limited number of DNS entries revering to old addresses on DHCP renewal. Technicians are working with the vendor to identify the cause of the issue.

PCs connected to Cisco IP Phones losing network connectivity.

Investigating - This issue is not wide spread but it is affecting a handful of users on UNK's, UNL's and, UNO's campuses. University Techs are working closely with both Cisco and Aruba support techs to resolve this issue.

Identified - ITS has identified the cause of the issues and is taking steps to remediate impact to affected services.

At approximately 1:11 PM, a vendor performing work inadvertently cut a bundle of network fiber cables. This cut has impacted network services to North Stadium and Hawks Championship Center. The vendor contacted ITS at 1:27 to alert ITS of this issue. ITS and the vendor are working on a couple of options to restore services to the impacted users. We will keep you updated as work progresses.

Power BI - Users may be unable to access the Power BI service and receive an error message. (Something went wrong. Please try again later), or will show as read-only.

Microsoft Admin Center: Admins may be intermittently unable to access the Microsoft 365 admin center and any action may be delayed if accessible.

Microsoft Intune: Users may experience failures with device check-in, syncing and device enrollment.

Viva Engage: Users may be unable to access Viva Engage.
