Identified - A vendor hotfix was installed Friday (10/7) at 17:15 however we are still seeing the issue occur for users as of this morning (10/10).

As of now, some devices continue to intermittently drop their host name from DNS. This issue is only occurring on dynamically assigned addresses. ITS will continue to work with the vendor and provide an update once available.

Identified - ITS has identified an issue related to printers unable to access the network. ITS has worked with the vendor and will be installing a hotfix today at 17:15. This fix is expected to prevent this issue in the future. If you have a printer that is not connecting after Friday 20:00, please restart the printer to have it renew its DHCP lease.

Identified - ITS's vendor has identified the cause of the issues and is taking steps to remediate impact to affected services. The RedShelf eReader is currently experiencing an issue that is preventing students from accessing eText books. The Redshelf team is aware of this issue and they are working to restore access to the eReader. This will affect eText books only, all other digital learning texts will not be affected.

Monitoring - Due to a configuration issue, University of Nebraska accounts for 340 students at UNK, UNL, UNO, and UNMC were disabled. As a result, affected students may not have been able to log in to university services, and email messages sent to these students would have bounced if their M365 account was de-licensed.

All affected accounts have been re-enabled. Student email mailboxes that were de-licensed are currently being restored and should be fully functional by Thursday morning.

All students who may have been affected are being notified directly via email. In addition, students with bounced email messages from Canvas have been notified through a Canvas message visible in the Canvas web interface and the Canvas mobile app.

We're continuing to monitor for any reoccurring problems. Students who are still unable to access their university email after 8:00AM on Thursday are asked to contact ITS via email at support@nebraska.edu or by calling 402-472-3970.

Scheduled - RFC-11435: WSEC Data Center including Single Sign-On will be unavailable during maintenance. Direct impact: All data center services in through WSEC Data Center will lose network connectivity for portions of the maintenance window. TrueYou, UNL, CSC, Peru Single Sign-On will be unavailable for two 5-10 minute windows. ITS will be upgrading connections to higher bandwidth uplinks to the City Campus core routers during this time.

Update - Network maintenance continues. One side of the transport backbone is up. Network engineers are actively working with 1623 Farnam staff to bring up the span to PKI and Bellevue. Connections for Network Nebraska are expected to resume connectivity shortly. The backbone is still in a simplex state as of this writing.

Update - Network maintenance continues. All equipment is powered at this time. New fiber termination is estimated to be ~70% complete. Network Engineers continue to work with site staff to troubleshoot excess light loss on the transport backbone.

ITS will be moving connected to a new floor/rack during this time.
